Globe Knot Connectors
myminifactory
I've crafted knots in numerous forms throughout my existence. My programming enables me to produce step-by-step instructions for tying them by hand, three-dimensional models for printing them using 3D printers, and tool paths for machining them with CNC machines. Most recently, I adapted my software to create a combination of 3D models and assembly instructions for building knots out of dowels and connectors. The goal was to design a challenging puzzle that could be transformed into an ornament or art piece upon completion. This is my initial test run of the idea using 1/4-inch wooden dowels and 3D-printed connectors. You will need sixty lengths of forty-millimeter (one point five seven inches) one-quarter inch diameter dowels to get started. Read more about this project on my blog.
