Globe holder

Globe holder

The plastic stand for my son's globe broke and the remaining plastic was to brittle to repair it, so I decided to design and print a replacement. I used the globe of the original item, which is 8,3 cm in diameter. Ofcourse you can also print a globe, which you can find on thingiverse or myminifactory. I recommend printing all elements apart, for extra strength, but you could also place them all together on one printbed. You will need to print the connectors two times. No glue is necessary to fix the arch to the stand and connectors, they will stick in place by pressure alone. If you print the stand and connectors in a different colour than the arch this will give a nice effect. For added effect I started and finished printing the arch with flourecent filament and in between I printed in white. This way, the markers on the outside of the arch will glow-in-the-dark. I did this by pausing the print after three layers and changing the filament, repeating this proces for the last three layers.
