Glider project - printed rib & stencil
thingiverse
I designed this rib for my latest glider project. If you prefer, a stencil can be used to create the rib from balsa wood. The printed rib weighs approximately three grams. A groove is located at the vertical end of the rib and on top and bottom in the middle, specifically for 6mmx1mm carbon strips. The front edge groove accommodates an 8-9.5mm balsa stick. Additionally, grooves are provided on the top and bottom of the rib for attaching balsa sheeting. The ending edge features a tip designed to glue into a 3mmx15mm balsa stick. To achieve rigidity, either use a 12mm carbon tube as a spar or insert balsa square pieces between ribs.
