Glider - Elastic launching.
thingiverse
This rewrite was inspired by a '50s book on balsa model-making; it's now a printable version. However, the printer size needed for testing isn't available. Users are encouraged to refine the model and comment on improvements. The STL file lacks three dowelling parts, which can be replaced with a piece of doweling. One goes through the glider's body for an elastic wing holder; another is used for launching at a 45-degree angle from the glider's bottom. A third may not be needed and is attached to the outrigger (temporarily forgotten name, but it's the tail section attachment point). An elastic could also be added to the nose for balance. The CAD file contains all components, including missing ones in STL and Gcode. It was designed in AutoCad, and a mockup file is provided for model exploration before printing.
