My trusty vintage Bertoia chair predates 1980, and its original design intentionally omitted glides. This was done to ensure the wire base would make direct contact with the floor, which might lead to some wear and tear down the line. That's why I took matters into my own hands and created a 3D printed press-fit part to replace it. EDIT 06/17/19 : The thickness of this part has been tweaked to prevent it from becoming loose over time.
