The Gleaves-class destroyers, constructed between 1938 and 1942, made up a fleet of 66 vessels in the United States Navy. This class was virtually identical to the Benson-class destroyers, differentiated only by their round stacks compared to the Bensons' flat-sided ones. As the main production destroyer for the US Navy during World War II, these ships were detailed models with numerous animatable features such as guns and turrets, anti-aircraft Bofors, 20mm cannons, davits, whaleboats, hatches, propellers, and rudders. Additional details include animated flags and anchors with chains, handrails, ladders, and hatch appearances, as well as life rafts that can be launched. The textures-enabled model is available in multiple formats and renders remarkably realistically with good animation and rendering techniques.
