I've posted this revised version of the chess set from glChess and the Linux xscreensaver hack called "endgame," Thing number 322616, after realizing that my original post had some serious overhangs which could cause trouble with just about any slicer software. To rectify this problem, I changed all overhangs to less than 45 degrees so now you're more likely to be able to slice and print without encountering difficulties. There's a single exception, the knight – in that case, I came up with a custom-made support which is manually generated for better results. However, if you still want to test the auto-generated support system on your knight, the design without a manual support structure has been made available for you as well. Each piece is correctly scaled to match the standard size of a chess board – which happens to be 25% larger than what I first posted here.\nThis chess set revision was updated on May 20, 2014 with a slight tweak: reducing the gap between the knight support structure and its corresponding piece for a more stable build.
