Glazed wall plaque
myminifactory
The palace interior was transformed into a stunning spectacle with numerous decorative elements added throughout. Glazed terracotta plaques were strategically placed on walls just above head level, creating a visually striking effect. These plaques were arranged in deliberate rows of alternating squares and circles, adding to their aesthetic appeal. The vibrant designs featured palm leaves, pomegranates, V-shape motifs, and interlaced bands, which were likely meant to serve as protective symbols. This exquisite craftsmanship originated from Nimrud and Tell Bila, Iraq, dating back to around 875-865 BC.
