Human: Artisans crafted green glazed vessels with ornamental handles in Southern Mesopotamia (modern Iraq) that were highly prized in SE-Arabia (UAE and Oman). Some of these decorative handles feature knobs or hands/paws at their base. Several of these artifacts were buried alongside individuals in tombs at Mleiha (Sharjah, UAE), where they remain as valuable relics from the 2nd century BCE to the 1st century AD. This fragmentary vessel was unearthed in 2013 from a plundered tomb within the Mleiha graveyard area's AV zone Q (excavation site ML.13/P.P.QC.25) and restored by the Sharjah Archaeology Authority.
