Ceramic lid fragment discovered during the 2008 excavations in Calatrava la Vieja, Castilla-La Mancha, Spain. This artifact dates back to the Islamic almohad period, spanning from 1195 to 1212 CE. Found in the south-east sector of the medina, next to the western wall of the alcázar, it is a medium-sized lid with distinctive features. The hemispherical body and horizontal projection serving as a stop are notable, along with the ring foot for easy fitting and central handle. Its outer face boasts curved grooves, covered in a vibrant green glaze. This type of piece was commonly used to cover containers in various shapes and functions: pans, jars, pots, jugs. Given its size, decoration, and glazed surface, it likely served as a lid for tableware pieces. Catalog No. CV 08 26 783 121. The artifact was processed and modeled using Reality Capture from 147 photos. Researcher M. Retuerce Velasco's study "La cerámica andalusí de la Meseta" published in Madrid in 1998 provides valuable insights into this ancient ceramic piece.
