Glasses Holder Desk Clip
thingiverse
I have a collection of inexpensive reading glasses with varying magnification levels, all cluttered together on my desk. Until now, they've been scattered among the other items stacked on my workspace. I wanted to create a simple system that would allow me to easily locate the pair I needed, depending on how closely I need to examine something or read fine print. To accomplish this, I designed a holder that can be clipped onto the edge of my desk. I printed it with some minor adjustments, but unfortunately, the resulting product was about 1/2 mm too thick, making it difficult to fit snugly against the desktop's thickness. To prevent it from sliding or wobbling, I applied command-adhesive strips between the holder and the desk. If you're facing a similar problem and are looking for a quick solution, feel free to print this design. You can find a time-lapse video of the printing process on my channel. Print Settings: Printer Brand: LulzBot Printer: TAZ 6 Supports: Yes Notes: The holder tends to use slightly less support material when printed horizontally (watch the time-lapse video for more information). I designed this holder with a basic sketch in FreeCAD, followed by extrusion and filleting.
