This gets annoying when simple ideas get overly complicated ;). You can print each part in a different color or stick to the same. Just slap them together. The bright red hair is indeed overwhelming. I've got a base, with and without that smiley. The curved smiley piece will need some sanding to fit properly. Either way, it's working beautifully so far. Maybe it's best just to paint the whole thing black or repurpose the material entirely.
