My Step Sister Needed Help Fixing Her Glasses So I Challenged Myself to Create a New Pair from Scratch When my step sister asked if I could fix her glasses, I saw an opportunity for a creative project that would push my skills to the limit. Printing new ones seemed like the easier option, but where's the fun in that? The real interest lies not in the finished product itself, but in how I managed to bring it to life. It all began with snapping photos of her lenses and importing them into SketchUp for some serious 3D magic. Using the 3 points arc tool, I drew a polygon that perfectly replicated the lens shape, then erased the original image to leave only the outline. From there, it was a matter of scaling up the design to match the actual size of the lenses – and voilà! The fun part began: meticulously drawing the frames around the lenses. To bring everything together, I reached for my trusty welding iron to bond the sides into one seamless unit. Finally, it was time to print the glasses using Ninjaflex, a material renowned for its unbreakable properties. The result is a pair of glasses that not only looks stunning but also boasts an unparalleled level of durability. My step sister's eyes are now protected by a shield of unyielding plastic, and I'm proud to have played a part in creating something truly unique.
