Glasses clip on protector case
thingiverse
My glasses came equipped with these magnetic clip-on sunglasses, which are fantastic, except they're quite delicate and I've had a number of them break over the years. They're quite costly to replace on their own (I suppose they want you to simply purchase a brand new set). Anyway, so this is an ultra-slim case designed to safeguard the clip-on. It should fit clip-ons that are 32mm tall, 140mm wide, and 12mm deep. And as you can see, the case is curved to minimize its size, since your clip-on is likely curved too. The "cap" is secured by two small detents. The entire thing prints as a single piece. The flap is a single layer thick and as such flexes nicely. I printed this with PETG at 230C without any fans. The underside of the top bridges poorly, but since it's inside, it doesn't matter too much. **UPDATE**: The v3 print in place flexible cap setup wasn't ideal. Haha, it always ended up breaking after a few weeks of use. I've revised the design, so v7 STL files are split to the body and cap. The cap snaps into place and is held by the bottom detents, with the thumb rest facing the non-curved side. This solution hopefully will last much longer. You should print the cap lying down flat (not standing up as the STL's natural orientation is showing).
