Glasses Case with Magnetic Closure

This case for my glasses relies on a pair of 1.5mm x 5mm rare earth magnets as its closure, and the hinge pins are .040 x 1" piano wire, which I obtained from the local hardware store. To create the perfect fit, I used a #60 drill bit to carefully ream out the hinge pin bores. I added an extra touch by etching my initials onto the lid at a depth of just .001". Print Settings Printer Brand: MakerGear Printer: M2 Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: .2mm Infill: 30% Notes: I achieved optimal results using .2mm layers, three bottom layers, two side layers, and three top layers with 30% infill. To get the best print quality, I recommend using black PLA at a bed temperature of 70 degC and an extruder temperature of 215 degC. For a smooth start to your print, I also suggest using a 2 x 20 skirt with a .1mm separation. How I Designed This I carefully placed my glasses in our scanner to get the perfect scan, which I then imported into SketchUp for editing. After refining the outline until it felt just right, I extruded it to the correct height and separated the base from the lid, adding sturdy hinges that would securely hold everything together.
