Glass Sword (Skyrim)
thingiverse
This is a design I created inspired by the Glass Sword from Skyrim, crafted with 123d Design software. It consists of 14 individual components, 13 if you opt not to use the decorative handle. The six pieces that comprise the handle fit snugly together without adhesive. To enhance stability, I inserted a 10mm shaft through the part. A 12" metal rod was used in the handle to add weight, while a dowel rod made up the rest of it. All but two sections of the blade measure 200mm in length. The blades were printed at 15% infill without support, whereas the handle and end crystal were printed with 15% infill and support for angles of 60 degrees or less due to issues with the initial print of the crystal. Due to its design, you must first glue the two sides of each blade section together before attaching it to the dowel rod and the next section. I recommend using a clamp to hold the sides in place while the glue/epoxy dries.
