Glass Shower Hook (for metal track channel)
thingiverse
My glass shower boasts a sturdy metal track along the top edge - an ideal spot to hang some hooks. I deliberately crafted this one to hold my UE Boom Bluetooth speaker, but it can also be used for bathing suits and other essentials. The OpenSCAD file includes all relevant variables, allowing you to tailor the design to your specific needs. Print Settings Printer: Monoprice Mini Select Rafts: Not necessary Supports: Yes Resolution: 0.2mm Infill: 20% - see update for details Notes: I opted to print with a brim, although it may not be required in all cases. Depending on the diameter of the shaft, supports might be necessary to bridge the gap in the hook. UPDATE 2017-01-11: The shaft snapped under the weight of my UE Boom speaker, where the cylinder meets the square brace. Fortunately, the speaker is rugged and survived the fall in the shower. I am reprinting just the shaft at 50% infill and increasing the shell thicknesses to 0.8mm. Post-Printing Snap together - glue optional Insert the shaft through the hole in the clip, and snap into place. It was able to support my Bluetooth speaker without any additional adhesives, although adding a little glue wouldn't hurt. How I Designed This OpenSCAD The SCAD file includes variables and comments - fully customizable.
