Glass rimmer

Glass rimmer

This is a glass rimmer I designed using OnShape. Mixing beverages at home and parties is my thing, but I'm always frustrated with the mess I make when rimming glasses with a plate that gets wasted along with ingredients. As a huge fan of functional CNC milling projects, this one made on the Sienci Mill One was exactly what I needed. I'd love to see how others remix it! CNC machine used: http://bit.ly/2PqAOBB Stepover settings are key: 0.45 for me. A 2mm stepdown and a feedrate of 1100mm/min work wonders. Plunge speed is set at 250mm/min, while spindlespeed ranges from 20000 to 25000rpm - adjust as needed. The endmill I used was a 1/4" flat head with a 30mm long flute. Stock material: pine, sanded and finished with mineral oil for a beautiful look. Details: * Parts fit together perfectly for easy storage * Dish - ideal for salts, sugars, or shortbread crumbs * Lid - great for citrus juices or syrup (inner ring was added to reduce volume)
