Glass plate spacers for X&Z

Glass plate spacers for X&Z

Wanted to seamlessly switch between my original BuildTak bed and a glass plate with PEI on my Maker Select without having to manually reposition the limit switches. Conceived these spacers that cleverly offset the home positions for Z and X, eliminating the need to adjust the switches. The glass plate I acquired is slightly smaller than the build plate, allowing clearance from the screw heads. The X axes spacer expertly moves the print head home position enough to fully position it on the glass plate. The Z axis spacer raises the print head just the right amount to compensate for the thickness of the glass plate. Both spacers simply slide onto the Z axis motor support bracket at the switch locations, making installation and removal a breeze. Added handles to make handling easier. I place the glass directly on the BuildTak with one clip at the front and two at the rear, keeping the clips out of the way of the print head when homing. When printing with ABS on the glass plate with PEI, setting the bed temperature to 110 proved effective. Included are DesignSpark Mechanical CAD files for those who need to adjust the spacer dimensions according to their machine specifications.
