I won't call this thing a work in progress because it functions as is, but take note that picture frame glass can vary between manufacturers, so please be aware that this frame should fit standard picture frame glass (dollar store) measuring smaller than 260 x 214 mm. The lighted portion of the box uses standard 5050 SMD lights with 300 LEDs per 5m light strips and requires soldering or attachment within the bottom portion of the box. I've included both insert types for the bottom portion of the box, with the larger insert allowing the frame to stand upright. This design was created in Tinkercad, so unfortunately I don't have any build files available, but feel free to modify the STLs if you want to. The two side pillars attach to the base using CA glue or other epoxy. I've made recessed tabs for each pillar, allowing them to slide into their respective sides when assembled with CA glue. The top of the base slides over the tabs on each pillar, enabling easy switching between glass etchings if desired. I've designed all fitted parts to have a minimum 0.30 mm tolerance, ensuring that a strong first layer and/or minor over-extrusion won't interfere with fit. You may want to print the pillars with support for the overhang on the top tabs, as they'll sit at a 90-degree angle to the build plate. Otherwise, the spot for the glass will sit at a 90-degree angle and require support. The bottom of the frame is designed for smaller LED receivers available on eBay, Gearbest, or Banggood. For more information on assembly and parts, refer to a timelapse video of the wiring and bottom frame here: https://youtu.be/6OgNLKKodbQ Multiple STLs are included, grouped together and independent pieces. The grouped files may require a large printer, but I used a CR-10. You can also print pieces independently if needed.
