Glass block towel drying rack
prusaprinters
We have glass blocks for our shower and just throw a towel over the top so we can have access to it from inside or outside the shower. Sometimes, though, the towel doesn't dry well sitting on the glass blocks and it can cause mold to start growing. I designed this rack to sit on top of the glass blocks to allow some airflow under the towel.I've included a few variations on sizes depending on needs. The 245mm bars are the largest I could fit on my printer bed (Prusa MK4). The 210mm bars are perfect if you want the brackets to sit on the grout lines and cover two blocks wide. This assumes your grout lines are roughly ½" or 12mm wide. The brackets come in 12mm, 15mm, and 18mm wide variants. I started off and used 12mm for all three but that didn't provide much space to hold the cross-bars in the middle. They seemed to hold okay, but it felt like it needed to be wider. I switch to 18mm for the middle bracket and it is much stronger. You'll need to print:3 brackets - 2 ends and a middle10 cross-barsI printed mine in PETG using:0.40mm nozzle with Input Shaper0.20mm SPEED print setting3 perimeters (3 or more is a must)10% gyroid infillUse the concentric top fill pattern for cross-bars to get a smoother surfaceIn this configuration, PrusaSlicer says I can get all the pieces in two prints for my MK4:brackets (choose 1)3x12mm: 92g and 3h31m2x12mm + 1x15mm: 97g and 3h45m2x12mm + 1x18mm: 104g and 3h58mcross-bars (choose 1)10x210mm: 113g and 3h53m10x245mm: 132g and 4h33m SupportIf you like my models and want to make my day, you can buy me a ☕!
