Glass Bed Holder - Spring Plunger

This design is optimized for use on the FlashForge Creator Pro with a glass bed, but can easily be adapted to suit other printers. The standard "L" brackets proved to be less than ideal at holding the glass bed in place, often requiring the use of spring clamps that would collide with the printer's mechanical components. A series of experiments with these clamps finally led to the development of a solution: shifting the clamping system to the sides of the glass bed. By positioning the spring-loaded mechanisms outside of the printing surface, a safer and more effective way was achieved. To build this design, you will need some everyday materials - ball point pen springs are abundant in most households, while 3D printed components and standard fasteners can be sourced locally. To reinforce stability, M3 wing bolts were purchased to secure the base of the design to the printer bed. Through trial and error, slight modifications to the part's geometry had to be made to ensure proper fitment - this included filing down certain features on the plungers. Moreover, utilizing a drill bit proved essential for incorporating the springs into the overall assembly. Despite efforts to perfect these settings, print shrinkage has remained a variable aspect of the design. **Printer Settings** * Printer: FlashForge Creator Pro * Rafts: None * Supports: None * Resolution: .2 * Infill: 25%
