I'm trying to work with a setup involving a 180mm glass plate on top of a 220mm round heatbed. The problem is that the glass plate isn't large enough to reach across the entire diameter of the heatbed. One option is to use a clamp or binder clip to secure the plate in place, but it seems like that solution wouldn't be strong enough given the size and weight of my setup. To overcome this limitation, I designed a custom holding mechanism that consists of three pairs of aligned mounting holes, drilled out on each side.
