Glass and metal patio table plastic assemblies
thingiverse
One of the two designs here was based directly on the initial openSCAD file from Glass Patio Table Rim Clip by Ettie. So I had this patio table that started to become unstable and shake. The design's structural parts rely heavily on those plastic elements to support the entire table and glass. After several seasons, the molded plastic began to crack and lose its strength rapidly. I initially designed something similar to the molded elements (see pictures), then thought about why there was this particular design: cheap, mass-produced construction with some reinforcement elements. However here, I was printing it, so I could create gaps inside and make it solid on the outside. And also having it more robust. Then I worked on the glass support from scratch with the same idea in mind. OpenSCAD files are provided to adapt easily to your own model, simply measure and replace the variable content as needed.
