Glass and Heatbed Clips

Glass and Heatbed Clips

thingiverse

I mounted a heatbed onto my RepRap G3D (Prusa i3 design sourced from Gadgets3D). The heatbed PCB was positioned atop a piece of cork, underneath Borosilicate glass. To secure these components in place, I fabricated "bed-clips" for the task. The corner holes on the heatbed PCB matched up perfectly with my print bed's layout, allowing me to run a 2” bolt through the entire assembly without any issues. In addition, I designed and printed adjustment knobs to simplify the process of making fine-tuned adjustments. The rear right clip also incorporates a strain-relief system for protecting my heatbed and thermocouple cables from potential damage. 2016-01-24 Update: I made several revisions to my Sketchup file in order to streamline it. A captive nut clip has been integrated into the design to replace the adjustment knobs, making adjustments significantly easier.
