SCENE INFORMATION The scene spans 50 x 50 kilometers. This model leverages OpenStreetMap (OSM) data for authenticity. Preparation was done specifically for use within 3ds Max and V-Ray Next. V-Ray Next rendered the images showcased here. While it is possible to utilize this asset with older V-Ray versions, results may not be optimal due to differences in technology and compatibility. The provided preview images represent render-outputs created using V-Ray Next software. Unit measurements used throughout this system are expressed in centimeters (cm). To accurately capture real-world environments, the asset utilizes realistic scale dimensions. Collapsable mesh export formats are available for user convenience. For any issues or further support, please contact our technical support team. DISCLAIMER This asset has been optimized with 3ds Max and V-Ray in mind as the primary platform. All materials within this model utilize the advanced features of V-Ray. Lights have also been implemented using V-Ray's capabilities for high-quality lighting. Keep in mind that while materials may translate well, they may not do so when exporting to different formats, which can affect rendering quality. We do not officially support the use of this asset with software or renderers outside of 3ds Max and V-Ray, as this may produce differing results. GEOMETRY The entire stack is efficiently organized by collapsing mesh complexity. All objects have unique names, neatly organized within specific layers for enhanced accessibility and user experience. Our team utilized layers for organization: (buildings, highways, railroad systems, water features), each layer reflecting real-world geography where applicable. Review our provided preview images to fully grasp the layering system's structure. Not all houses or buildings are included due to import restrictions enforced by OpenStreetMap or limitations with OSM data, however we've outlined the area covered by imported elements in preview images for your reference. While landmarks themselves have been simplified due to their complex and vast geographical presence, we incorporated existing data available from OSM into the model. Model topology is entirely flat with zero height data. For tree assets, specific statistics include a polycount of 2,262,960 vertices - 1,188,054 when combined with their corresponding geometric forms. Trees within the scene are designed using basic box shapes for visual and organizational efficiency in 3ds Max. Placement and management were facilitated by creating these on a V-Ray plane located at origin (0, 0, 0), although keep in mind that this plane won't be included during file export. MATERIALS Our model exclusively employs the robust capabilities of V-Ray materials for realistic outcomes. Each map, used across materials to accurately portray environment and object detail, is housed within its own dedicated zip-archive. Material unwrap and UMW handling has been simplified for users, facilitated through UVW Map Modifier functionality inherent in 3ds Max, eliminating additional complexity during workflow operations. LIGHT SETUP This asset effectively employs a sun-based V-Ray setup to mimic real-world conditions as closely as possible. Rendering settings were optimized using the linear color management system available within Linear Workflow capabilities offered by V-Ray software. This provides high level fidelity when rendering this scene in different software. FORMAT 3ds Max versions ranging from 2017 upwards (and older 2020, ensuring backwards compatibility) are supported. For convenience, our models can also be exported as .FBX files (.OBJ included). ADDITIONAL INFORMATION To gain additional support on how to import and work with this file in specific software platforms, please do not hesitate to contact us at any point during your creative process. Should you require assistance regarding export format compatibility, we've created detailed resource sections dedicated to that subject. In addition, please refer to our diverse and varied library featuring an array of realistic 3D models suited for a wide range of design needs. As a final token of appreciation from the development team behind this 3d model, it would truly mean a lot if you could spare some time and share your constructive feedback on your user experience, in terms of quality, utility and potential improvement suggestions by way of rating it. This invaluable feedback aids us greatly when shaping future products. As a last but important point to emphasize, it's crucial to understand that the model presented before you was indeed generated using sophisticated computer algorithms as part of 3d modeling workflows, rendering this as entirely fictional or artistic interpretation and not reflecting actual real-life representations whatsoever.
