This highly detailed model, accurately scaled and fully textured, features an animated cockpit and operable canopy. Ailerons, elevator, and rudder are all movable, while realistic flight animation was prioritized in its development. The DG-200 sailplane, belonging to the 15-meter class, was manufactured by Glaser-Dirks starting in 1977; a second version with a 17-meter wing was introduced in '78. Sharing its era with the ASW-20 PIK-29 and Mosquito, a total of 192 DG-200 sailplanes were constructed, some later models boasting carbon fiber spars. The DG-200 also served as the basis for the development of the DG-400 motor glider.
