Glasdrumman metasediments & composite cone sheet
sketchfab
Low-grade metasedimentary rocks, of Silurian age and dating back to the Iapetus closure, are cut through by a composite cone sheet of Palaeogene origin. This composite sheet consists of a basalt outer layer and an inner granite core, associated with the Atlantic's opening. The NE-SW orientation of these metasedimentary rocks is clearly disrupted at this site by the N-S striking intrusive contact. Initial observations point approximately due south. This model corresponds roughly to Location 5 on the larger MCG 3D model found here: https://sketchfab.com/3d-models/mourne-geology-coastal-processes-glasdrumman
