GLADIUS Microbiological Filter Face Mask

The biggest challenge in creating a face mask that provides some level of protection against the new coronavirus is finding adequate and tested filter materials. We've managed to overcome this problem by using the Microbiological filter, like this one: https://www.intersurgical.com/products/airway-management/clearguard-range-medium-efficiency#1544007 This filter's filtration capability far exceeds most face masks available now and could be a very scalable way of addressing the critical face mask shortage. The internal grill is designed for placing a moisture-absorbing material. We've used PLA filament in our testing so far, especially because of its supposed relative non-toxicity compared to other materials. Only the male size is currently available publicly. DISCLAIMER: This project is an open-source research effort. The participants take no responsibility for use cases, dangers from manufacturing processes, or outcomes of wearing this design (or derived designs), in any way, shape, or form; nor do we claim medical-grade protection or any kind of protection against the new coronavirus. We recognize and admit fully that this is a prototype, and should be treated as such. Testing and certification of this face mask from all aspects, including production, assembly, fitting, and reusability, are currently underway.
