Lithium batteries are highly unstable and can detonate if compromised, making them costly to replace after a drone crash. The design's primary goal was to safeguard this investment while minimizing weight and ensuring adequate ventilation to prevent overheating. Printed on a Makerbot Replicator 2 without supports or special settings in PLA, the original concept had to strike a balance between functionality and lightweight construction. Two notched sides on the longer section of the holder feature a velcro strip that secures the battery, while a recessed area in the rear allows for smooth insertion and effortless removal.
