Giuseppe Venturoli was born in Bologna on January 21st, 1768. He studied at home where his mathematics teacher Sebastiano Canterzani supported him with his philosophy thesis. At the age of 23 he became a member of the Academy of Aggregate Sciences of Bologna. Pope Pius VII called upon him and appointed him chairman of the board of directors of the school of Hydraulic Engineers on October 23rd, 1817. He remained in this position until his death. Venturoli is most known for his contributions to hydraulics. This object is part of "Scan The World".
