ALL INFORMATION ON THE GYROPRINT 2020: http://projetcnc.blogspot.com/ Update 09/2022 https://youtu.be/vYZjcsnXdxQ I've built an autonomous rotor launch system with a direct drive low RPM multirotor motor. It's easy, simple, and strong. I'm sharing the adaptation STL parts, but you might struggle to find the same motor as mine. If you have a different motor, please share your dimensions, and I'll see if I can draw something that works. My motor is a dualsky XM4005TE-11 with 840 RPM/V. Update 12/04/2020 I've added a new thicker engine mount that eliminates vibrations from the twin blades. The stators are also further away from the fuselage to fit 5-inch propellers easily. The motor wires can be lodged in the leading edge of the support: STL, 3MF, Prusa Slicer, and SolidWorks 2019 part. Update 08/04/2020 I've made some changes: * I added a screw to hold the fin, which prevents it from breaking. * For now, I position the daggerboard upside down to prevent the blades from breaking too often while waiting for a new design on the right side. * I designed a new "bio-inspired" blade with a double camber profile. It's hard to feel a difference in flight. * On the new hub rotor adapted to the last fine rotor head: stroke limitation to prevent the blades from breaking the drift * And now, I'm sharing SolidWorks 2019 original files. I'd love it if you could help me evolve this design by showing me what you've come up with. Update 01/04/2020: * Simplified main landing gear * New rotor head: incidence -1.5 degrees, dihedral 1 degree. * Reinforced cabin at mast level Update 01/04/2020: * New tail beam, new fin, and new stabilizer: stronger and lighter. Update 28-03-2020: * Two versions for motor mount M2 or M3 motor fixation. New short blades printed in one part, much stronger for the same flight. * Fit in Prusa MK3S (210x200) * New 2 parts screwed cabin. If you don't have screws, you can glue the two parts. Update 22-03-20: New bimotor version The advantages of a twin-engine system are numerous: * No effect of engine torque or helical torque, making flight much easier * Much less noise * Easier centering * Lighter and simplified stabilizer since the yaw axis is controlled by the differential of the motors Weight in order of flight: 420g Diameter: 82 cm The Gyroprint 2020 is my second gyroplane, and the first two-bladed autogyro. I've done extensive testing to ensure that this design flies smoothly. The rotor axis is about 10 degrees nose up. For the first flight, it's essential to have a good speed on the rotor before releasing the model! Equipment: * Motor: 28mm brushless RaceStar BR 2205 * Propeller: 8-inch propeller (no more!) * Servos: 2 mini metal gables 23 x 10 mm: Blue Bird BMS 126 WV for me * ESC: 15 amp * 4-way receiver * Eagle Tree Guardian stabilizer * 3S 800mah battery Hardware: * 2 bearings 3x3x7 (2 pcs) * 4x4x11 bearing with shoulder (2 pcs) * M3 hardware. The radio is programmed as for a classic model, with delta mixing managed by the Eagle Tree module. Little deflection and a lot of expo on roll and pitch. It's essential to have a good speed on the rotor before releasing the model!
