I fell head over heels for bike commuting when I lived in Fort Collins, CO, where sunshine is a way of life, and now I love cruising around Berkeley, stopping to savor the flavors at restaurants and catch a show at theaters. Every time I hop on my bike, I scan my helmet because it's consistently bright and sunny here, and I've never been a fan of wearing sunglasses under my helmet or dealing with the hassle of removing them every time I stop somewhere. That's why I'm eager to design flip-down shades that can be easily deployed from the visor at the front of the helmet - no more fumbling with multiple pieces when I need to take a break, and the added bonus of staying dry-eyed and sweat-free with my glasses securely in place.
