Giraffe Capture
thingiverse
This giraffe model was crafted using my SLR camera and 123D Catch, a desktop software. Although glass glare caused some difficulty, the final product turned out well. The rear portion of the giraffe is less detailed due to its proximity to a wall. To view the textured capture, visit http://www.123dapp.com/3dp-Catch/giraffe/1357618. Meshmixer was used to heal any holes and make the base flat. A lion model was also created using the same technique; however, its inaccessible side was mirrored with Meshmixer. To ensure quality, remember to keep the entire subject in focus and shoot sequentially from multiple angles, avoiding movement. Upload images with a resolution of 3-6 megapixels for best results. When photographing people, ask them to remain still and close their mouths to minimize muscle movement.
