Please watch this video for more information: https://youtu.be/1gY-GS2yxPI It's time to unleash our creativity once again, this week we're going back in time a decade and bringing Gir from Invader Zim to life in 3D design. I've included two files for your convenience, one featuring just the Gir model and the other with tree supports expertly added in MeshMixer. I designed this model using Fusion 360, with a clear goal in mind: creating a single piece that requires minimal supports. To achieve this, I carefully positioned him to maximize printing efficiency. Additionally, I wanted to experiment with MeshMixer's tree supports feature, so I included both versions of the file. The model was printed on my trusty Robo 3D R1 using Hatchbox White PLA. Here are the print settings: Layer Height: 0.3mm, Infill: 20%, Supports: Yes, Raft: No. To bring this design to life, follow these post-processing steps: Step 1: Sand and file any rough spots. Step 2: Apply plastic primer, giving it a few coats and allowing each coat to dry completely before proceeding. Step 3: Paint the gray/silver areas using Krylon Hammered Metal spray paint, applying multiple coats with drying time in between. Step 4: Paint the details, including the teal-colored eyes and joints as well as the black on his mouth, using water-based acrylic paint and a paintbrush.
