Please watch this video for more information: https://youtu.be/1gY-GS2yxPI It's time to dive into another 3D design, and this week we're going back in time by a decade to bring Gir from Invader Zim to life. I've included two files - one featuring just the Gir model, and the other with tree supports added using MeshMixer. I designed this model in Fusion 360 with a focus on printing it in a single piece, so I positioned him in such a way that he would require minimal supports. However, I still wanted to try out the tree supports available in MeshMixer, which is why I added them. While they worked reasonably well, there was some artifacting that I would have preferred to avoid. I printed Gir on my Robo 3D R1 using Hatchbox White PLA. Here are the print settings I used: Layer Height: 0.3mm Infill: 20% Supports: Yes Raft: No When it comes to post-processing, here's what you need to do: Step 1: Smooth out any rough spots with sandpaper or a file. Step 2: Apply plastic primer - give it a few coats, letting each one dry completely before moving on. Step 3: Paint the gray and silver areas using Krylon Hammered Metal spray paint. Apply multiple thin coats, allowing each to dry before adding more. Step 4: Use water-based acrylic paint with a brush to bring the details to life - these include the teal-colored eyes, joints, and black mouth.
