Table designed by Gio Ponti.From molteni.it: "Giovanni “Gio” Ponti, born on November 18, 1891, in Milan, was an Italian master of architecture who made a significant impact during his time. A designer and essayist as well, he was one of the most important figures of the twentieth century. In addition to creating numerous architectural works that showcased his unique style, Ponti produced a substantial amount of furniture designs. His three homes in Milan, which featured full-scale "Ponti" furniture collections, served as living examples of his design concepts. The first house on Via Randaccio dates back to 1925, the second home at Via Brin was completed in 1926, and the final residence at Via Dezza opened its doors in 1957, embodying Ponti's approach to interior design. Gio Ponti was an Italian proponent of industrial design who successfully introduced the idea of furnishing homes with modern, sophisticated, economic, and democratic ranges. Molteni&C embarked on a meticulous project to recreate furniture and furnishings designed by Ponti for exclusive use in his private homes and limited edition productions. Following an extensive process involving research, selection, and analysis of prototypes, the collection was unveiled at the Salone del Mobile in 2012, thanks to the collaboration and exclusive agreement with Ponti's heirs and Cerri & Associati Studio.
