Gingery Lathe Parts
thingiverse
After printing out numerous parts from the gingery lathe design by sprocket1597, I noticed that many of the components were missing. To rectify this issue, I started designing the missing parts in Freecad. This allowed me to obtain all the necessary components required for a complete lathe build. However, I still need to add the tailstock assembly and other related components. This revised design includes the missing compound swivel, compound slide, headstock, and leadscrew bearings for the side of the lathe body. The STL files are precise in size and ready for printing. Individuals attempting to print the original files from sprocket1597 must adjust the size settings from metric to imperial or vice versa for accurate results. In Kisslicer, users can access this option under "All Models" as "inches -> mm" or set the size ratio to 25.4 or 2540%. Update: A slight error was discovered in the headstock design, and a revised version has been uploaded. For individuals who have already printed the incorrect version, a supplemental file called Pads_fix_headstock is available for use. Simply attach these pads to the bottom of the headstock, and they will effectively correct the issue. The error lay in the bottom section of the headstock, where the mounts and slide grips were located, which was 1/16th of an inch shorter than required. This revised design addresses this problem, ensuring that users do not need to reprint the part unnecessarily.
