This project was created to significantly enhance my skills in Fusion 360, and although it wasn't strictly necessary, it proved to be a valuable learning experience. I'm aware that it's not flawless, but one small imperfection is located at the rear of the model, and yet it prints perfectly. Every year, I design and bake multiple gingerbread houses for church to host an event where families gather to decorate their own gingerbread creations. Each time, I've taken on the task of designing the houses myself, baking them, and allowing everyone to enjoy decorating them. This year, I decided to take a new approach by designing the house first, followed by creating cookie cutter-style templates instead of using cardboard or paper ones. The windows are created by adding broken Jolly Ranchers to give them a unique texture. The door is spacious enough to accommodate various LED-powered candles for lighting up your creation. Designing these cookie cutter templates proved to be quite challenging due to the large surface area required on the printer bed, making proper leveling crucial. I usually print fewer pieces that go close to the edge of my printer, so this project was a great test of printing near the edges. To ensure food safety, I used PLA certified for use with food. However, please note that due to FDM printing's nature, these creations may not be suitable for long-term use, as cleaning between layers can be challenging. The photos attached are from an assembled house, but it hasn't been decorated yet, as it's meant to be decorated at the upcoming event. I'll upload more photos of decorated houses after the event in a few days. I hope you have just as much fun with this template as I did creating it.
