Gina Gogean bust in Deva, Romania

Gina Gogean, a retired gymnast from Romania, dominated international competitions in the late 1980s and throughout the 1990s. With an impressive collection of 30 medals from Olympic Games, world championships, or continental championships, she established herself as one of the greatest gymnasts of her era. Her remarkable skills on the floor exercise earned her three world championships titles, while her expertise on the vault led to two world championship victories and a title in 1997. Additionally, Gogean excelled on the balance beam, winning a gold medal at the 1997 World Championships. As an exceptional all-around gymnast, she won numerous medals on this event, including the European title in 1994, a silver Olympic medal in 1996, and a silver medal at the 1993 World Championships. Her remarkable consistency, longevity, and efficiency made her a cornerstone of the Romanian team in the 1990s. This sculpture is part of an ever-growing series of bronze busts located outside The School of Gymnastics in Deva, Romania. Each bust represents an athlete who represented Romania since the 1978 Olympic Games in Montreal. This tribute serves as a testament to the strength and success of female artistic gymnasts and athletes worldwide. The school was founded by the legendary gymnast Nadia Comaneci and is coached by Marta and Bela Karoly. Since 2003, it has been renamed The Cetate Deva National Sports College and focuses on female athletics. This object is part of "Scan The World," a non-profit initiative introduced by MyMiniFactory, which aims to create a digital archive of fully 3D printable sculptures, artworks, and landmarks from across the globe for public access.
