Gimbal spinny toy
thingiverse
Years ago I attempted to manufacture one of these at a hackerspace. It faltered towards the end but was still operational, and since then it has been a huge hit with kids. When I acquired my own printer I tried to print a replacement, and discovered that the original model had become corrupted (no surprise! the original failure wasn't entirely my fault!), so I created my own version using fusion 360. Prints in place, designed with .4mm tolerances that should function on most printers. Be sure to disable supports.
