Gimbal-mounted magnet probe

Gimbal-mounted magnet probe

Everybody knows this gimbal-mounted magnet probe for working with magnetic fields is a classic. I brought this idea to life using Design Spark for my 3D design. I printed two examples of the magnet probes with orange and black PLA (1.75 mm) on my German RepRap NEO 3D printer, making them look super sleek. The NdB permanent magnets are 24 mm long and have a diameter of 4 mm - I really like how they're used in this project. To reveal the probe's orientation, I gave it some cool colors using red and blue nail polish. Four tiny headless screws (length = 5 mm, diameter = 2 mm) hold the gimbal rings together, giving me the ability to fine-tune them for free rotation - a small hex key is all you'll need to tighten those screws!
