Gimbal for Xiaomi Yi / GoPro / SJCAM (2axis, forward facing)
thingiverse
I built this gimbal specifically to go with my modified ZMR250 quad (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1246396), but it will work great in any situation where you need the gimbal to face forward. The camera plate will fit perfectly on a Xiaomi YI camera, but it will also work well with GoPro or SJCAM cameras - just use a velcro strap to secure it. I went through several versions of arms and camera plates to get perfect balance between CoG with my Xiaomi Yi. This low-cost (around 35 USD) solution really surprised me. Check out some sample footage here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=roRp9UtGVRY - a significant part of this video was shot by this copter using this gimbal, but not all shots are stabilized. There are two ways to attach it: the fixed holder (available in the "holder.stl" file) the vibration-dampening holder (available in the "dampened_holder.stl" and "dampened_holder_arm.stl" files) To make it you will need: 2 x gimbal motors ($10 each, available here: http://www.banggood.com/Gimbal-Brushless-Motor-2208-Suitable-for-Gopro-Gimbal-p-959144.html) gimbal controller ($15, BGC 3.1 available here: http://www.banggood.com/BGC-3_1-2-Axis-Brushless-Gimbal-MOS-Controller-with-Mini-GY6050-Sensor-p-957358.html) some servo wires 300 g vibration-dampening balls (optional, $10 for a pack of 4 on Ebay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/4Pcs-300g-FPV-Gimbal-Vibration-Damping-Balls-for-Gimbals-Gopro-DJI-Quadcopter-/191605248156) Build Instructions: 1. Print out the holder, arm and camera plate 2. Assemble everything together 3. That's it! Print Settings: Rafts: None Supports: None Infill: 50 % Notes: ABS plastic is a good material to use when printing this
