Gimbal for a SteadiCam

A custom Gimbal was constructed for a DIY SteadiCam project at work (view details at http://www.yb2normal.com/DIYsteadicam.html). It utilizes two 624 bearings together with the essential 608 bearing. Alternatively, four 624 bearings or no 624 bearings can be used, with two deemed a suitable compromise. If using no 624 bearings, the middle ring's height can be lowered to match the outer ring at 16mm or even 12mm. To assemble, glue the 608 bearing in the center of the inner ring and the two 624 bearings on the middle ring. Attach a 4mm cap screw from the outside of the outer ring to the middle ring. For each ring side, place a cap head washer, outer ring, washer, nut, another nut, followed by a washer, a 624 bearing, and finally, a nut. Fasten the middle ring to the inner ring using a 4mm cap screw, a washer, the middle ring, another washer, and nuts. Adjust as required for optimal movement.
