The 3D terrain/topographical model was created as a present using Google Earth for locating earth coordinates, and obtaining NED/DEM maps from MapMart.com. The software Global Mapper 11 converted the maps into .STL format before ArtSoft-3d was used to create a 20mm thick 3D model. Magics RP was employed for cleanup and cutting out along property boundaries based on deeds. However, the model needs sectioning for printing on a Makerbot.
