Gift Card Ornaments

Want a creative way to present a gift card? Then turn it into an ornament! Conceal that awesome subscription to WOW, Xbox Live membership, or Amazon gift card in plain sight somewhere on the tree this holiday instead of tossing it into a boring box. We've also attached the Blend file so you can edit, modify, or customize it however you want. The idea is to unleash your creativity and make something entirely new and personal for that special someone. Here's how I designed This: In Blender view, first I modeled the shape of the card to create a digital reference in the 3D environment. Next, I created the shape of the tree by tracing it from a background image sourced from Google. Then, I crafted the "hooks" that hold the gift card in place and named them "ADD..." before modeling the ornaments and duplicating their shape in edit mode to ensure all were part of the same object, which I then named with "SUB...". I employed this naming convention because the final step involved using a technique called booleans to add and subtract the two objects from the base tree shape I created. This makes it easier to make edits based on how the print turns out. That's all there is to it! ~Metal
