You won't need any supports. Print the lid with the top side facing down. The Shells print with the closed side facing down as well. A tie-down is included that lets you thread a pipe cleaner through to secure the pipe into the box, eliminating the need for any extra support. Simply place the lid on the box and then put the two box shells on either end - you'll have a fantastic gift box for the pipe your friend or family member will love. I made this box specifically for my half-bent pipe that I got for my brother's Christmas gift. A straight billiard would probably fit in this box, although the stem stand might be a bit too high.
