Giant Raspberry PI Case / HAL 9000 replica
myminifactory
Hi makers ! This is my very first attempt to reproduce a full-scale HAL 9000 replica. The size of this incredible project comes in at roughly 34cm x 11cm x 2.7 cm. To get started on this fantastic build, you'll need: A Raspberry Pi (version 2 or 3) A PAM8403 audio amplifier - available on Amazon.fr A massive arcade push button for the red eye - check out this eBay listing A 3.5 mm stereo jack cable to scavenge from an old device Wires, a LED light, and a 500 ohm resistor This replica is built with 4 main parts, and I've cleverly split the case in two due to its compact size. To achieve a smooth surface finish, I used lots of sanding and epoxy. Depending on your demand for more assets like stickers or Python code, I may create them for you. For now, the LED is blinking in sync with CPU activity. In the near future, I plan to add voice functionality by incorporating TTS or pre-recorded WAV files. Feel free to share your makes - I'd love to hear from you!
