Giant Posable Halloween Spider w/REMIXED leg segment (UPDATED)
thingiverse
The original design for this is truly exceptional. Nevertheless, I encountered significant difficulties fitting the balls of the distal leg_segment_1 and proximal leg_segment_3 joints into their respective sockets on leg_segment_2, even after attempting to print at various resolutions and settings. Remixing the second leg segment in meshmixer with alternative positioning of the sockets resolved the issue, so I'm sharing this solution in case anyone else faces a similar problem. This creation is absolutely gigantic. Perfect for Halloween celebrations. I'd like to extend my sincere gratitude to Audrey2 (all credit and advice go to her) for the original design at https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2583610. For what it's worth, I wouldn't recommend leaving this posed in a basement hallway at work for your colleagues to discover. Trust me on that one. UPDATE: One maker experienced an issue with Simplify 3D rendering the mesh for leg_segment_2 due to two problematic shells present. Slic3r seemed to handle it without issues, but I've combined and remeshed the segment in case any other slicer encounters problems with the original. This file has an additional "SINGLE_SHELL" in the filename, *I haven't conducted a test print of this* to verify the fit. If there are any issues with it, please let me know...
