Giant Mimic
thingiverse
As you walk through the dimly lit tunnel, the sound of snoring echoes throughout the frigid ice caverns. Slowly and stealthily, you approach the opening to the side cavern from which the baritone sounds of slumber emanate. As you peek around the corner, you see a huge cavern sparsely furnished with primitive tables and chairs fashioned from rough logs lashed together. Lying beside the table and an overturned chair is the source of the snoring - a 2500 lb, 22 ft tall frost giant asleep in an awkward twisted position, suggesting that he drank himself to sleep and fell out of his chair. A barrel of what is probably an alcoholic beverage still clutched in his left hand and his gargantuan double-bladed ax lies across his chest held tightly in his right. The room could easily be passed by you and the giant ignored, except your eyes are drawn to an elaborate treasure chest - eight feet tall. You begin to wonder if giants have giant gold pieces, giant gems, and giant magical treasures. We sneak past the giant and inspect the treasure chest for traps. The DM grins mischievously. "This is no ordinary treasure chest," he says with a sly smile. "It's a trap, and it's going to be a doozy." You can easily see that the chest is sized to about 42mm tall, but it could easily be scaled down to a more common size.
